The film was partially funded by Paramount Pictures and 20th Century Fox; at that moment, it was the most expensive film ever made, with an estimated budget of $200 million. Leonardo DiCaprio as Jack Dawson Kate Elizabeth Winslet as Rose on the Titanic, upon its release on December 19, 1997, Titanic achieved acute and profitable success. It became the second film to gross more than $2 billion worldwide (after Avatar).

Earning over  $17 million in India and  $2.5  million overseas, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge became the  highest earning Bollywood film of the year, and one of the  biggest hits of all time in India. It won 10 Filmfare Awards.

The film premiered June 25, 2004, in the United States and Canada and earned $13.5 million in 2,303 theaters its opening weekend, ranking number 4 at the box office. The film grossed a total of $115.6 million worldwide, $81 million in Canada and the United States and $34.6 million in other countries. The Notebook  is the 14th highest-grossing romantic movie film of all time.

It earned $23.2 million on its opening day, and $63.1 million during its opening weekend in 3,992 theaters, ranking number one at the box office
